Waldeck / Ittertal

Fuessen

Born 1959 in Essen at the Ruhr, to this day, unfortunately, I can't remember my sign of the zodiac. With two sisters and a brother I have grown up in Duisburg-Hamborn, Osnabrueck, and Bad Kreuznach. Since October 1997, I am married with Claudia Dohse, a jurist.

I like talking with other people, camping with friends, playing instruments (piano or keyboard, classical music and blues), riding motorbike or driving convertible, dancing, and I often laugh (should get a bit more serious perhaps, coming near to the mmm-ties). I also enjoy taking a photograph, and, unfortunately, I sit sometimes too long in front of my PC, doing handiwork with software or hardware.

I have studied at the Bonn and Marburg Universities some law studies and primarily protestant theology. So that I don't come from the exercise, I publish scientific papers from time to time, particularly to the areas Ancient Near East, Old Testament and Church history.

I work in the central administration of the Protestant Church of the Rhineland, the Landeskirchenamt in Duesseldorf. For some years I had to take care of some deaconic duties (social services) of our church, especially with physically challenged people and in counselling. At the moment, I am particularly responsible for service (liturgy) and sunday school (child service), official pastoral duties (baptism, confirmation, wedding, burial et. al.), pastoral care (spiritual welfare for deaf and blind people, too) and church music.

A hobby of mine is genealogy. Some of my ancestors lived near Füssen in the Bavarian part of Swabia in the Allgaeu (where you can find the famous castle of Neuschwanstein nearby). About the year 1690, a bricklayer-journeyman named Johann Schwaiger emigrated from there into the Westerwald (he and our family there have first got their surname 'Schwab' not before 1730). Westphalia (Westfalen) (Minden-Ravensberg, Siegerland) and a region situated at the border of Westphalia in the north of Hesse, the Itter valley in Waldeck, are other fields of research. Small branches come from the lower Rhine area (Niederrhein) and Saxony, too.
